Mission: St. Louis Pickleball Scramble Recap
On Friday, February 28, we hosted our 4th Pickleball Scramble at the Missouri Pickleball Club (M.P.C.), bringing together more than 100 players of all skill levels for a night of friendly competition.
Executive Director Josh Wilson opened the evening by welcoming guests and introducing them to the work of Mission: St. Louis. He spoke about the passion behind work and the goal of empowering others, changing lives through programs in job readiness, education, crime reduction and additional support.
“Tonight, by playing pickleball, you’re investing in lives, some you may never meet,” Josh said. “Our city is worth investing in and lives are being changed.”
Following his welcome, board member Frank Thurman thanked the event’s sponsors before officially kicking off the scramble. With paddles in hand, the players headed to the courts with energy and excitement.
Off the courts, guests enjoyed food, drinks and participated in activities like “Pull the Paddle,” where players selected a paddle at random for a chance to win a prize. Throughout the evening, guests participated in the silent auction with a chance to bid on well sought out items like tickets to a Battle Hawks game and high-performance pickleball paddles.
By the end of the night, we raised $21,000 to support our programs.
